Rhode Island School of Design · Commencement Weekend
A designer's loft for a designer's family weekend. 2,000 square feet, a ten-minute walk to RISD's campus and the RISD Museum. Sleeps eight — room for the artist, the family, and the friends who came to cheer them on.
Built For This Weekend
Across the pedestrian bridge, through the Jewelry District, up College Hill. The RISD Museum is on the way — worth an hour between ceremonies and dinner.
Original art. Burnt-orange wing chairs. Exposed ductwork, a full-wall media bookshelf, a kitchen island that's a statement. The loft is deliberately designed — a RISD family arrives and immediately gets it.
Three bedrooms, two master suites, 2.5 baths, a dining table for 10. Graduation weekends often pull together family from multiple cities — the loft holds everyone comfortably.
The garden is one of the reasons guests book this loft over every hotel in Providence. Fire pit, dining for six, BBQ grill. The perfect setting for a quiet, late-night toast to your graduate.
Providence parking is brutal during commencement weekend. A gated driveway spot keeps your car safe and out of sight. You never have to worry about it.
Book with confidence. The listing is a Superhost with 15 years of hosting — the details that matter on a high-stakes weekend have been figured out.
From RISD Families
"We came for my daughter's RISD graduation and the loft was perfect — 5 adults, plenty of space, the best location in the city. We walked everywhere. The garden fire pit at night was magical. Already booked again for next year."
"Traveled with my family for graduation at Providence. The place was spacious with great amenities that blended with the industrial vibe of the location."
"This is a really nice place! Modern and well laid out, excellent open kitchen, clean and comfortable bedrooms. It's also a short and nice walk to RISD and Brown."
Planning Notes
RISD Commencement is traditionally held on the first weekend of June. Check risd.edu/academics/commencement for the current year's exact dates and schedule.
RISD and Brown commencements are typically back-to-back weekends — Brown the last weekend of May, RISD the first weekend of June. Some families attend both. The loft is equally walkable to each.
RISD commencement dates typically fill 10–12 months in advance. If you know your child is graduating next year, book now — the longer you wait, the more likely your weekend is already gone.
During commencement weekend, the minimum stay is typically set to 4 nights to ensure families can enjoy the weekend properly. Arrive Thursday, ceremonies through Sunday, depart Monday — a natural rhythm for the event.
